Principals:

Kathleen Morgen, Principal, Management & Fundraising Specialist: Prior to Founding Morgen Lloyd & Associates in 2002, Kathleen held the following positions: Director of Development, New Connections; Executive Director, A Traveling Jewish Theatre; Director of Development, California Shakespeare Festival; and Development Director, American Lung Association of Santa Clara & San Benito Counties. Kathleen has spent over 20 years involved in every aspect of managing theatrical and special-event production. Some noteworthy projects include the sale and production of a private concert with the Spinners at Pebble Beach, a series of trade shows for Sunset Magazine, on-site coordination of over 60 performers for ESL's thirtieth anniversary, and for Hewlett-Packard, the production of two Renaissance Fairs for 5,000 employees.

Graham Lloyd, Director of Operations & Management Consultant: Graham has more than 30 years experience in high-tech product development, management and direct marketing. He owned and operated a successful consulting business for over 10 years. Graham directed projects with budgets in excess of $20 million and designed and implemented Total Quality Management Systems (TQM) compliant with the International Standards Organization (ISO) requirements in both the for-profit and not-for-profit environments. He also has direct experience with Organizational Development in the areas of team building, conflict resolution, communications enhancement and governance.

Associates:

Theresa Thurman, M.A., Organizational Systems Analyst:
Theresa has extensive experience in organizational and leadership development, management, team building and education. She is a former consultant with Wisdom Consulting, a firm that specializes in organizational communication as well as training and professional development. A 20 year Navy veteran, Theresa is also an adjunct instructor with Ashford University, University of Phoenix, and Sacramento State College of Continuing Education. She holds a B.S. in Organizational Management from Crichton College, a master's in Human Resources Management from Webster University and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Paul Sagan, Grant Proposal Coordinator:
Paul came to MLA after seven years as a staff writer for Antenna Audio, a division of Discovery Communications, writing audio and multimedia tours for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Elvis Presley's Graceland, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Yosemite National Park and dozens of other sites nationwide. Before that, he was an editor and grant writer in UCSF Medical School, division of Pediatric Cardiology, where he was Assistant Editor of Pediatric Echocardiography by Norman H. Silverman and Rudolph's Pediatrics, edited by Abraham M. Rudolph. Paul also co-edited George Birimisa's collected works, Portraits, Plays, Perversions. He earned a B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary and studied acting at Webster College Conservatory of Theatre Arts.

Sage Arbella, Grant Writer:
Sage worked 10 years as a social services counselor for Community Services Consortium. During that time, she participated on grant writing teams for a wide variety of program-specific and interagency grants, including collaborations with Department of Human Services, Oregon EDD (Employment Development Department) and rural school districts in the area. Sage has a strong background in education, social services and writing. She served on the Lake County International Charter School's Board of Trustees for two years during the school's start-up and has a bachelor's degree in English Literature.

Kassy Fatooh, Grant Writer:
As a screenwriter, Kassy learned the Art of the Story in her graduate years at USC film school, but as a grant writer, she learned the Art of the Ask on the job with public radio and television stations and a variety of other nonprofits. The main thrust of Kassy's work with MLA has been in foundation grant research and writing, but clients have benefited from her entire range of skills. A video for California State Parks visitors, the annual report and magazine of The Wilderness Society, and a slide show for Sutter Hospital have all borne Kassy's imprint as a writer, researcher and editor.

Deborah Longfellow, Special Events coordinator:
Deborah has provided event-planning services in Sonoma and Marin Counties for over 25 years, from private, special occasion or themed parties to corporate events and seminars. Drawing on her innate creative abilities in floral and interior design, coupled with her gracious yet exacting standards, Deborah handles a myriad of details with aplomb that makes for a memorable event. A former floral shop owner, Deborah garnered extensive experience providing services including event-planning and coordination, assisting with venues, caterers, entertainment, and decorating with the accoutrements necessary for that finished touch.
